TEST-OUT INFORMATION: Students may take advantage of the test-out option in BST 108, BST 100, BST 101, and BST 108. Test-out sections are numbered 50 and above. Check the schedule for testing day and times. Correct techniques and acceptable speed on 3- and 5-minute timed writings with no more than one uncorrected error per minute are required to pass BST 100, BST 101, and BST 102. Students must also demonstrate proficiency on a 30-minute production test with 95% accuracy. (No production test is required for BST 108; students are graded on technique and speed.) The minimum straight-copy speed required for passing is

 

BST 108: 20 wpm; BST 100: 35 wpm; BST 101: 45 wpm; BST 102: 55 wpm.

 

Students who are unable to pass the test must drop the test-out section. See the Program Director to arrange test outs in other BST courses that are not labeled as test-out sections. Test-outs are given only during the add/drop days listed on the class schedule. Please check the date and time for the test-out section for which you are registering.
